Auction Rules and Information – Everything About the Auction

Auction House Statement

Webaukció Kft. is committed to transparent, fair, and professionally grounded auction practices. Our auctions are designed to combine the traditions of the classical auction house with the security and convenience of the modern online environment.

The entire auction process – from online bidding to the live closing stage – is conducted according to uniform rules in a transparent and verifiable manner. Every bid is recorded, and the order of bids is determined by system-verified timestamps. Our goal is to provide all participants with a predictable, secure, and professionally reliable environment.

This auction is organized and conducted by Webaukció Kft. on the website www.webaukcio.eu. Participation in the auction constitutes full acceptance of these rules.

Structure of the Auction

The auction is a unified process that begins with online bidding and ends with a live closing stage. The two stages do not constitute separate auctions, but two consecutive parts of the same sale. The live stage begins from the highest bid level reached up to that point; the price does not restart.

The online stage generally lasts 10–20 days. During this period, the lots are presented in detail: multiple photographs, detailed descriptions, and all relevant information are made available so that bidders can make informed and careful decisions.

All bids placed during the online stage are deemed full-value and valid bids.

If no bid is received for a lot, it may still be purchased after the auction במסגרת a post-auction remainder sale; in such cases, the purchase price is the starting price increased by the buyer’s premium. We do not offer a lower price.

In the online auction, “proxy max” (proxy maximum) is the highest bid amount that a bidder specifies in advance in the system, up to which the system will bid automatically on their behalf.

How It Works

The bidder sets a maximum amount (proxy max).

The system does not immediately display this amount, but only the minimum next bid required.

If another bidder places a bid:

  • the system automatically places a counterbid on behalf of the owner of the proxy max,

  • and always increases the price only by the applicable bidding increment.

This continues until the proxy max amount is reached.

Example

Starting price: 10,000 HUF

Bid increment: 1,000 HUF

BidderBid
Bidder “A” proxy max20,000 HUF
Current system price10,000 HUF
Bidder “B”11,000 HUF
System automatic bid12,000 HUF (on behalf of A)
Bidder “B”13,000 HUF
System automatic bid14,000 HUF

If bidder “B” places a bid of 21,000 HUF, then:

  • the proxy max (20,000) is exceeded,

  • bidder “B” becomes the leading bidder.

Main Point

Proxy max = a secret maximum bid up to which the system bids automatically on behalf of the user.

Maximum Bid

The bidder is entitled to define a maximum bid. This means the upper amount limit up to which the system automatically represents the bidder.

The system:

  • increases the bid only in the event of a competing bid,

  • in every case proceeds according to the official bidding increments,

  • does not exceed the specified amount,

  • treats the amount of the maximum bid confidentially.

In the case of identical bids, the earlier recorded bid takes precedence.

Example

Current price: 100,000 HUF
Bid increment: 5,000 HUF
Maximum bid: 130,000 HUF

A competing bid arrives at 105,000 HUF → the system raises the bid to 110,000 HUF.

The increase is made step by step, but the system does not go above 130,000 HUF.

Example During the Live Stage

At the end of the online stage:
Highest bid: 240,000 HUF
Previously set maximum bid: 300,000 HUF

During the live stage, a bid of 250,000 HUF is placed.

The system automatically raises the bid to 260,000 HUF.

The increase continues according to the bidding increments, but it does not go above 300,000 HUF.

Live Closing Stage

The live closing stage begins at the pre-announced time, and the lots are auctioned in the published order.

Each lot starts with a dynamic bidding time of 20 seconds. If a new bid is received, the countdown restarts from 20 seconds. The lot is knocked down if no new bid is received for 20 seconds.

This system ensures a transparent and fair auction that provides equal conditions for all participants.

In the case of a larger number of lots, a pre-announced break may be held.

Bidding Increments

Bids may only be placed according to the following bidding increments:

0 – 1,000 HUF → +100 HUF
1,001 – 5,000 HUF → +200 HUF
5,001 – 10,000 HUF → +500 HUF
10,001 – 20,000 HUF → +1,000 HUF
20,001 – 50,000 HUF → +2,000 HUF
50,001 – 100,000 HUF → +5,000 HUF
100,001 – 200,000 HUF → +10,000 HUF
200,001 – 500,000 HUF → +20,000 HUF
500,001 – 1,000,000 HUF → +50,000 HUF
1,000,001 – 5,000,000 HUF → +200,000 HUF
Above 5,000,001 HUF → +500,000 HUF

If a different amount is entered, the system will take into account the nearest lower valid amount according to the applicable increment.

Payment

The total amount payable is the hammer price plus a 20% buyer’s premium.

Example:
Hammer price: 100,000 HUF
Buyer’s premium: 20,000 HUF
Amount payable: 120,000 HUF

The winning bidder is obliged to pay the full purchase price within 10 days from the close of the auction.

Unsold Lots

Lots that remain unsold during the live auction may be purchased after the close of the auction in the form of a separately announced post-auction remainder sale for a specified period.
